Templates to adapt

Before the due date

Hi [name], a quick note that invoice [reference] for [work] is due on [date]. The outstanding balance is [amount]. Payment details are [verified method]. Please let me know if you need a copy or have a question.

First overdue reminder

Hi [name], our records show [amount] remains outstanding on invoice [reference], due [date]. Could you arrange payment or let me know if there is an issue? If you have paid recently, please send the reference so we can reconcile it.

Further follow-up

Hi [name], following up on invoice [reference]. The remaining balance is [amount]. Please confirm when payment is expected or explain any query so we can resolve it. A copy of the invoice and verified payment details are included.

Unresolved balance

Hi [name], invoice [reference] remains unresolved. Please contact us by [reasonable date] about the [amount] balance or any outstanding query. We will then consider the appropriate next step under our agreement.

These are original suggested messages, not legal demand templates. Adapt them to the agreement and situation. Do not add statutory business-interest wording to a household bill.

JobDiary’s optional overdue reminders can follow supported stages, but the correct balance and customer context still matter. A reminder is a business communication, not proof that every charge is legally recoverable.
