Reschedule rain-affected work by recording the blocked visit, choosing a realistic next action and checking the rest of the week before moving it. The aim is to keep both the work and the customer commitment visible, rather than clearing today’s screen.

A rain-day recovery routine
| Step | What to decide |
|---|---|
| Record | Which job was not completed and why |
| Assess | Whether different work is suitable and within the agreed scope |
| Replan | Crew, equipment and available capacity |
| Communicate | Revised arrangement, without an unsupported certainty |
| Verify | Repeat rule and future visits remain sensible |
Make decisions appropriate to the actual work and site conditions. This guide is a scheduling method, not a horticultural or safety judgement that particular work is suitable in wet conditions.
Do not duplicate the visit
In an illustrative maintenance round, a Wednesday visit is deferred. Before creating another booking, check whether the original is being moved or a replacement is being created. Confirm that a future repeat has not also been generated as though Wednesday’s work happened.
Keep a list of deferred jobs with no new arrangement. Reconcile it after the disruption, including visits that were completed later in the day. ‘Tomorrow’ is not a workable default if tomorrow’s crews are already full.
JobDiary includes recurring and one-off scheduling. It does not promise automatic weather forecasting or automatic rain-day replanning. Test the supported date changes and repeat behaviour with a sample before relying on them across the whole round.
