Choosing software
Tradify alternatives for small Irish trade teams
Choose a Tradify alternative only after naming what you want to change.
The short answer
Choose a Tradify alternative only after naming what you want to change.
Choose a Tradify alternative only after naming what you want to change. Price, accounting connections, crew use, project records and recurring visits are different reasons to switch. Preserve the capabilities that already work before comparing a replacement.
Explore the wider choosing trades software guides for the steps around this decision.
Alternatives by the buying question
| Buying question | Candidate to investigate | Evidence needed |
|---|---|---|
| Do our current trade-job records already fit? | Tradify itself | Test the required plan rather than dismissing it |
| Do we want a different client and service-management approach? | Jobber | A matched job and cost example |
| Is financial control across trade jobs central? | Fergus | Actual reporting, setup and local support answers |
| Do we need leads, mixed work and crew records joined? | JobDiary | A full record from enquiry through invoice and cost |
| Do we mostly need repeat visits? | A narrower round app | Confirm whether quotes, invoices and projects are unnecessary |
This is an editorial shortlist based on public scope, not an independent review score. JobDiary is our product. Prices, local terms and plan availability must be obtained from the vendors when you decide.
Give Tradify credit for the work it already supports
Tradify’s published feature pages describe enquiries, quoting, scheduling and invoicing, and identify accounting connections. If a working connection is central to your office process, replacing it with unverified behaviour is not an improvement. Ask for a demonstration of the exact records being transferred, including changes and part payments.
JobDiary’s appeal should be judged on its actual connected business record and approved per-business offer. It does not claim to replace specialist design, statutory accounts or regulated certification tools. Those boundaries can make another package, or a combination of packages, a better fit.
Plan a reversible switch
Use synthetic records in the replacement first. Then test a small export of active customers and open work, checking scope, dates, attachments and balances. Do not promise a complete historic import simply because customer CSV import is available.
Keep a copy of the old records you are entitled to retain and reconcile the opening position before cutover. Ask the current provider about cancellation and export access while the account is still active. A cheaper subscription is a poor trade if the switch loses the evidence needed to finish and bill existing jobs.
