Pricing the work
A landscaping quote template that makes scope clear
A landscaping quote template should make the site, scope, supplied materials, price and exclusions easy to understand.

The short answer
A landscaping quote template should make the site, scope, supplied materials, price and exclusions easy to understand.
A landscaping quote template should make the site, scope, supplied materials, price and exclusions easy to understand. Use it to prevent ambiguity, not to avoid surveying the work. The wording below is a starting structure to adapt and review for your business.

Copyable quotation structure
Quote reference: [reference]
Issued: [date]
Customer and payer: [details]
Work site: [address]
Work included: [preparation, main work, finish and cleanup]
Materials supplied: [specification and quantities]
Removal/disposal included: [describe]
Exclusions and assumptions: [describe clearly]
Price and tax basis: [checked amount and applicable treatment]
Proposed timing: [subject to agreed booking arrangements]
Payment terms: [reviewed terms]
Quote validity: [date or stated period]
Changes: [how revised scope and price will be agreed]
Acceptance: [supported confirmation method]
Do not add automatic non-refundable deposit wording or unrestricted variation charges from an unrelated template. Consumer-service obligations and your actual agreement still apply.
Turn a vague line into a clear scope
‘Garden tidy’ leaves too much open. A better illustrative description identifies the areas, work to be done, finish expected and whether waste removal is included. State excluded tasks rather than hoping the customer will infer them.
| Common ambiguity | Information to add |
|---|---|
| Materials | Who supplies them and the agreed specification |
| Waste | What is removed and what remains on site |
| Access | Customer arrangements and unresolved constraints |
| Extras | How work outside the scope will be confirmed |
Preserve the accepted version
Give each revision an identifiable version or date. Link the accepted document to the work record and make important exclusions available to the crew. If the price book later changes, that should not silently alter an earlier agreement.
JobDiary supports quote templates and projects, but template availability is not legal approval of the wording. Check current CCPC service guidance for household work and obtain suitable advice for the terms your business uses.
